Clinics & how to refer in to our services

Clinics now operate on an appointment and walk-in basis. An appointment can be made at any of our clinics by using our online booking system to by telephoning 0300 123 5474.

Limited walk in slots are available at The Gemini Centre and operate on a first come first served basis.

Our Brook clinic is a specialised service running clinics every day but Sunday, dedicated to people aged 19 or under.

Sexual Health Wirral offer bespoke services available via referral only as follows:

Specialist Contraception clinic

In addition to our daily sexual health clinics we also offer a consultant led specialist contraception clinic for complex cases. This clinic operates on a referral only basis and is held once a week at St Catherine’s Health Centre for the following:

  • Complex coil insertions
  • Deep implants
  • Pelvic ultrasounds

How to refer to this clinic?

Referrals can be made into our Specialist Contraception Clinic (N3 connection required). 

These can be completed and submitted online or emailed to shwfax.wirralct@nhs.net.

Alternatively, you can save our referral form onto your desk top and either email it to us once completed or print and post it to:

Psychosexual Service

Our Psychosexual Service is run by an experienced team of therapists. The team provide help and support around sexual, relationship, gender and sexual diversity issues including:

  • Erectile difficulties
  • Vaginismus (involuntary tightening of the vaginal muscles)
  • Dyspareunia (pain during or after sex)
  • Reduced or increased sexual desire
  • Difficulty having an orgasm
  • Premature ejaculation

Patients who require support for any of the above can be referred into our Psychosexual Service.
