Please be aware that we are currently unable to provide a Pyschosexual Service. As a result, waiting times for patients to be seen are now significantly delayed and we are unable to say at this time when the service will resume.
We are currently contacting existing patients on a rolling basis two weeks in advance to let them know their appointment won’t be going ahead at this time. We will also be writing to all GPs who have made new referrals.
Alternative options are being explored and we will keep you updated on progress. Other referral routes and information about how to find an NHS gender identity clinic can be found here.
We apologise for any inconvenience.
Our Psychosexual Service is run by an experienced team of therapists. The team provide help and support around sexual, relational, gender and sexual diversity issues.
Our therapists are aware that it can be very difficult to talk about such personal issues and are here to help and support you in a confidential environment.
Some of the most common problems we see in our clinics include:
- erectile difficulties
- vaginismus (involuntary tightening of the vaginal muscles)
- dyspareunia (pain during or after sex)
- reduced or increased sexual desire
- difficulty having an orgasm
- premature ejaculation
Our team provides dedicated help and support to all gender and sexually diverse communities across Wirral.
Wirral Gender Support Service
We have a dedicated appointment only clinic* every Friday, 1.00pm - 4.00pm, at St Catherine’s Health Centre.
We provide help and support for all gender diverse communities across Wirral and support people who are questioning or are confused about their gender.
For people who feel they are transgender during the various stages of transition we offer an initial assessment when querying gender status and/or a referral to a Gender Identity Clinic of choice. We also provide on-going support if required.
*This clinic is referral only. If you feel this service would be of benefit to you, please see your GP who can refer you.
