Triple site testing

Triple-site STI testing for Chlamydia and Gonorrhoea, also known as extra- genital testing, includes screening of the throat and rectum in additional to a urine test or vaginal swab.  This applies to oral and anal sex. You know better than anyone else what kind of sex you're having, so as you go through the online STI postal test request pathway you will be asked some questions that will help us advise on the recommended kit for you.

Triple-site testing is routinely offered to gay, bisexual, and other men who have sex with men (MSM), transgender women who have a penis, sex workers and people who have been sexually assaulted. Some of the questions in the online kit request pathway will help us identify if this is the recommended kit for you.

If you have any symptoms of an STI we recommend you attend a clinic for triple site testing. If you just want to get checked out, you can request a postal test kit at SH:24

As many STI's do not have obvious symptoms, a test every three to six months is recommended (every three months if on PrEP).
