Think...Contraception
Think…Contraception! is here to support people across Wirral to understand their contraception choices, feel confident in their decisions, and know where to go for advice and care at any stage of life.
Contraception isn’t just for after having a baby. It’s for anyone who wants to prevent pregnancy, space pregnancies, or plan when the time is right. Whether you’re starting a new relationship, changing contraception methods, or just want to explore your options, we’re here to help.
Just had a baby?

Did you know you can get pregnant again as soon as 21 days (3 weeks) after giving birth, even if your periods haven’t returned and even if you’re breastfeeding?
That’s why it’s important to think about contraception early, so you can plan what’s right for you and your family.
Make a plan. Be prepared. Before 21 days.
There are many different types of contraception, and the right option will depend on your body, your lifestyle, and your plans. Whether you want something short term, long term, hormone free, or something you don’t have to think about every day, there are safe and effective options available.
Our team offers free, confidential and non-judgemental support. We can talk through your options, answer any questions, and help you choose what works best for you, whenever you need it.
We can support you with:
- Contraception advice at any stage of life
- Postnatal contraception, including the first 21 days after birth
- Starting, switching or stopping contraception
- Long-acting methods like the implant or coil (IUD/IUS)
- Short-term or “bridging” methods if you’re waiting for an appointment
- Emergency contraception if needed
You can access contraception through any of our clinics, as well as your local GP practices and pharmacies, making it easier to get support closer to home.
Think contraception early. Think contraception anytime. Make a plan that works for you.
